This website started as a project for my first year internship at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. The internship was at The Go Project, a non-profit agency focused on academic enrichment and mental health support for children ages 5-11. It was my job to find something meaningful to add to the agency.
The parents and children at the Go Project desperately needed a resource guide to all the free and low cost services in their neighborhood (Lower Manhattan/East Village/LES). This inspired me to find social services that include Basic Needs, Education, Legal, Mental Health, Physical Health and Recreation; all things that are helpful to any population in New York City.
